Ravensdown’s lime quarries throughout the country all have the Fertmark tick of approval.
Fertmark is an independently assessed fertiliser quality assurance programme which has ongoing and vigorous auditing.
Prior to embarking on the Fertmark programme only five of New Zealand’s 126 lime quarries had the Fertmark tick – and Ravensdown owned two of them.
With the Fertmark tick farmers know the exact quality of lime they are applying to their pastures.
With Ravensdown AgLime we quote farmers the average wet and dry weights so they know what they are applying. In New Zealand lime has been promoted generally on a dry basis as opposed to the wet basis which is what is received by the farmer. We think this is fairer and more accurate.
