Eradicate 600

Physical Description:

Contains 600g/kg of metsulfuron methyl in the form of a wettable powder.

Chemical Group:

Sulfonyl Urea

Uses:

Eradicate 600, a herbicide for the control of brushweeds such as blackberry, broom, gorse, matagouri, sweetbriar and many other difficult to control woody weeds. It is used extensively for controlling large areas of brushweeds and for forestry site preparation. Eradicate 600 is also very useful for controlling difficult broadleaf weeds such as buttercup, ragwort and thistles including multicrown species in pasture through the use of a weed wiper. Do not use where damage is not desired on productive species such as ryegrass and clover.

Benefits:

Eradicate 600 is a nonselective herbicide which means it has an effect on most plants.

  • It is extremely cost effective at controlling most brushweeds.
  • It has low toxicity and therefore is an extremely safe product for the user.
  • It can be tank mixed with other herbicides to increase the efficacy and spectrum of the target weeds.
  • It is ideal for blanket spraying large areas, especially pre plant in forestry.
  • It can be used for extremely hard to kill broadleaf weed species in pasture through spot spraying or weed wiping.

Application:

As Eradicate 600 can be applied through spot guns, knapsacks, weed wipers, mist blowers and hand guns for many different species, it is advised to refer to the label for the appropriate rates. Eradicate 600 is compatible with Glyphosate 360 and most other likely herbicide partners. It may also be used with spray marker dyes based on acetic acid formulations, but mixtures must be used within 24 hours. In most situations Eradicate 600 must be used with an organic-silicone penetrant such as Accelerate.

Withholding Period:

Do not graze with any stock until one day after application. Do not graze with dairy cows until 3 days after application.

Mode of Action:

Eradicate is rapidly absorbed by foliage and is translocated in the plant. It arrests cell division in the growing tips, leaves and roots of the plants, stopping growth. This happens very quickly and is followed by a slow decline in plant vigour and subsequent death.

Environmental Fate:

Eradicate is extremely injurious to Ryegrass and Clover Species and so a plantback period of three months should be observed. The persistence of soil residues can vary according to the dose rate, soil type and rainfall. It is suggested to sow a small area approximately 1 - 2 months before the intended sowing date to ensure the residues have depleted.

Rainfall:

Rainfall within one hour of application may reduce the effectiveness of the application.
