Granit

Physical Description

Contains 750g/kg Tribenuron methyl in the form of a water dispersible grain, dry flowable formulation.

Chemical Group

Sulfonyl urea

Uses

Used in conservation tillage as an additive to Ravensdown Glyphosate to improve the activity on a range of broadleaf weeds and clovers. Granit can also be used as a selective broadleaf weed herbicide in wheat, barley and oats.

Benefits

Granit can be tank mixed with Glyphosate 360 to improve control of white clover and certain other broadleaf weeds. Can be used as an economic solution in direct drilling situations when planting Brassica’s, cereals and grasses.

Application

Granit can be applied both via ground and aerial application methods. A minimum spray water rate of 60lt/ha is recommended. Agitation must be maintained at all times. Avoid spray overlapping and use caution when starting slowing or stopping as injury to the crop may result. Use spray mixture within 24 hours of preparation as spray degradation may occur. Granit is compatible with most other commonly used herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides. Refer to label for rates on specific crops.  Do not apply Granit if lime has been applied in the previous two months or if the soil pH is over 6.5.

Mode of Action

Absorbed through the foliage and causes a disruption in cell division. Susceptible plants cease growth immediately. Symptoms of plant death may not be noticeable for 7-21 days after application.

Compatibility

Granit is compatible all products used in conservation tillage programmes and with most commonly used cereal herbicides, insecticides and fungicides.

Withholding Period

Allow grazing 3 days after application, preferably delay cultivation till 7 days post application. Granit has a 14 day plant back period in all situations. If the soil pH exceeds 6.5 do not sow Brassica’s in to Granit treated soil.

Storage and Handling

This product must be under the care of an Approved handler during use.

Rainfall

Do not apply if rain fall is likely within 1 hour following application.

Surfactant

Always use Correct or Collaborate surfactant at label rates when using on it own, not necessary when tank mixing with other products.
