Multiple

Physical Description:

Contains 300g/litre of clopyralid amine salt in the form of a soluble concentrate.

Chemical Group:

Substitute pyridine.

Uses:

Multiple is a selective broadleaf weed herbicide for use in amenity & turf grass areas, asparagus, beets, cereals, forage brassica's, forestry, maize & sweetcorn, orchards, pasture and conservation tillage programmes.  It is used for broadleaf weed control in turf, sports grounds and ready lawn nurseries in combination with other selective herbicides. It is also used extensively through weed wipers, hand guns and spot spray units for difficult to control weeds such as Californian thistles and other biennial thistles that have become multi crowns.  Multiple also is very useful to control weeds such as clovers in combination with Glyphosate 360 as part of a minimum tillage or direct drilling programme prior to planting. Multiple is often added to Pasture Guard MCPA & Pasture Guard 2,4-D to increase the activity to thistles in established Pasture.

Benefits:

Multiple can be used on amenity and turf grass areas such as sports fields and parks to remove unsightly flat weeds, without harming the grasses. It is used extensively in combination with Glyphosate 360 in sprayouts before direct drilling (conservation tillage) of brassica's cereals and ryegrasses. Multiple is the product of choice for controlling Californian thistles and other weeds in forage brassica's. It has excellent activity on Californian, Scotch, nodding, variegated and winged thistles either through; weed wipers, handguns or knapsacks. Multiple is ideal for spot spraying and can be added to Pasture Guard MCPA & Pasture Guard 2,4-D for extra efficacy in pasture weed spraying.

Application:

Application rates do vary according to the weed species and size, it is always best to refer to the label. Multiple is compatible with most commonly used herbicides, cereal insecticides and fungicides.

Withholding Period:

  • Stock: No withholding period exists for grazing animals but it is always best not to graze for 10 days following application to allow the chemical a chance to translocate and photosynthesise.
  • Plant Back Periods: Do not plant susceptible crops such as peas, beans, clover, carrots, cucurbits, potatoes or tomatoes within 12 weeks of applying up to 500ml/Ha.

Where more than 500ml/ha is applied do not plant susceptible crops within 6 months of application. Species such as Brassica's, Cereals and Ryegrasses may be planted at any time after application as residues have no effect on these species.

Mode of Action:

Multiple is absorbed by leaves, stems and roots.  Multiple then translocates through the plant to interfering with cell division and stem elongation.

Rainfall:

Rainfall within 3 hours may reduce the effectiveness of the application.
