NPKSMgCaOther
000000 80% elemental zinc as stabilised zinc oxide (ZnO)

Physical Description:

ZINC OXIDE PLUS™ is a white powder available only in 25kg unlined woven polypropylene bags. It contains 99% pharmaceutical grade zinc oxide with 1% inert stabilising and suspending agent to help hold it in suspension when mixed with water.

This product is registered pursuant to the ACVM Act 1997, No A09412.

See label; Zinc Oxide Plus.

Uses:

ZINC OXIDE PLUS™ is used as an animal remedy for use in cattle and sheep to prevent facial eczema; by oral drenching, addition to supplementary feeds or pasture spraying.

Benefits:

ZINC OXIDE PLUS™ is a cost-effective and convenient method of preventing facial eczema.

Application:

See label for full details.

ZINC OXIDE PLUS™ is not soluble in water so cannot be administered through the drinking water.

  1. Dietary Zinc Supplement - usually used at low rates, eg 0.25-0.5g/cow/day. It can be administered by oral drenching or added to supplementary feed.

  2. Facial Eczema Prevention - ZINC OXIDE PLUS™ is usually administered as an oral drench, although the same dose can be added to supplementary feeds or sprayed on the pasture.

Addition to supplementary feed: Mix properly into supplementary feed to deliver 2.5g ZINC OXIDE PLUS™ powder per 100kg live-weight per day. Zinc Oxide can also be pre-blended with Ravensdown PKE, Dairy Hi Carb 18 & Dairy Hi Carb 27 prior to despatch.

Pasture spraying: Suspend ZINC OXIDE PLUS™ in a suitable quantity of water so that pasture can be sprayed ahead of the grazing animals. Application rate (per day) is 3 - 6 grams ZINC OXIDE PLUS™ per 100kg live-weight depending on percentage pasture utilisation.

Oral drenching: Mix 1kg ZINC OXIDE PLUS™ with 1 litre water and stir well. This produces approximately 1.2 litres of drench. If drenching is started at least 2 weeks before the spore counts reach danger levels, the long-term dosing rate should be used to gradually build up zinc levels in the animals. However if drenching is started once spore counts are already high or animals are showing symptoms of facial eczema, the crisis dosing rate should be used.

    Long-term drenching - dose rates:

Daily drenching: 3ml drench mixture per 100kg live-weight (this is equal to 2.5g ZINC OXIDE PLUS™ powder per 100kg live-weight).
Drenching every 3 days: 13ml drench mixture per 100kg live-weight (this is equal to 11g ZINC OXIDE PLUS™ powder per 100kg live-weight).
Weekly drenching: 32ml drench mixture per 100kg live-weight  (this is equal to 27g ZINC OXIDE PLUS™ powder per 100kg live-weight). Please note: weekly drenching is not suitable for lactating dairy cows!

    Crisis drenching - dose rates:

Daily drenching : 4.5ml drench mixture per 100kg live-weight per day (this is equal to 3.75g ZINC OXIDE PLUS™ powder per 100kg live-weight).
