Physical Description:
Potassium Nitrate comes as white prills or colourless crystals.
Uses:
Potassium nitrate is available as a prill and as a crystal. Crystal is used for foliar sprays or fertigation, while prills are typically used for high value, chloride-sensitive horticultural crops such as avocados.
Benefits:
Potassium Nitrate is a quick release Potassium and Nitrate source, with a lower salt index than potassium chloride. With the nitrogen in the nitrate form, N is immediately available for plant uptake.
Application:
As a solid fertiliser, maintenance rates of up to 250 kg/ha are typically used. If applying potassium nitrate prills to avocados, approximately 50kg/ha should be side dressed in June prior to winter. Where crystals are used for fertigation (eg viticulture), the amount will depend on the level of nutrient removal by the crop. Consult an Account Manager for further assistance.
Storage & Handling:
As with most solid fertilisers, Potassium Nitrate can be stored over a season as long as it is kept in a cool, dry, well ventilated area.
Note: Carrier will require a Dangerous Goods license to collect this product.
