Borate 46 & 48

NPKSMgCaOther
0.00.00.00.00.011 15% elemental Boron

Physical Description:

Borate 46 consists of light grey chips, while Borate 48 is a crystalline sodium borate.

Uses:

Borate 46 is used to treat deficiencies in horticultural, pastoral and arable situations. Particularly applied with starter fertiliser to brassica crops, as they are prone to having Boron deficiencies. Also promotes growth of legumes (eg white clover) in pastoral situations if there is a B deficiency. If a clover only leaf tissue test for B has results below 13-16 ppm then B is probably required.

Benefits:

Borate 46 provides boron in both a fast release (as sodium borate) and slow release (as calcium borate) form, ideal as part of a starter fertiliser for brassica crops.

Application:

Pasture: 25kg of Borate 46 per tonne of fertiliser - based on a spreading rate of 250kg/ha. This will provide 6.25kg FB46/ha. B

Brassica crops: require higher amounts of Boron, and thus have a higher requirement per hectare - usually around 50kg/tonne of fertiliser (equivalent to 10-15kg FB46/ha).

Borate 46 should be used for all high analysis & granulated mixes eg DAP, CAN based mixes. Boron is toxic to germinating seeds therefore should not be sown in direct contact with seed. This trace element is approved by Bio-Gro and Certenz for restricted use, thus written permission is required before use.

Storage & Handling:

Store in a dry place.
