Ulexite (Boronat 32)

NPKSMgCaOther
0.00.00.00.00.00 10% elemental Boron as Boron Oxide

Physical Description:

Boronat 32 is a grey granular fertiliser. The 32 refers to the product containing 32% boron oxide (B2O3).

Uses:

Boronat 32 is made from ulexite, which is a natural mineral containing two types of borate intrinsically combined: sodium borate, which is soluble in water and calcium borate, which is insoluble in water. This provides a combination of both fast and slow release supply of boron. Boronat 32 contains 10% elemental boron and is a grey granular fertiliser ranging between 4 and 7mm.

Benefits:

Boronat 32 releases boron slower than sodium borate fertilisers, making it ideal for forestry and perennial crops.

Application:

For forestry situations, 4 to 8 kg boron, applied as Boronat 32, helps to prevent boron deficiencies in pine tree. This is equivalent to 40 to 80 kg boronat 32 per hectare. NOTE: on light, gravelly soils the lower rate should be used, as B toxicity can occur at 8kgB/ha. There is also evidence that boron can help improve wood quality. Some stores hold an Agricultural grade of Boronat 32 - this is essentially the same product, but a slightly smaller mesh size (2-4mm). If applied to agricultural crops eg forage brassicas, it is important to realise that not all the boron will be released within the crop's life.

Storage & Handling:

Store in a dry place.

Source:

Boronat 32 is sourced from South America.
