Taumarunui farmer Richard Edwards has been a Ravensdown customer all his farming career and appreciates the benefits of both low prices and his shareholder rebate.
Richard and Coral farm 220ha of flat to steep country at Matiere, northwest of Taumarunui, with 500 dairy grazers and 700 breeding ewes with lambs kept for fattening.
As an existing fertiliser customer, Richard was an immediate user of Ravensdown’s animal health products as well.
“Any fertiliser or animal health products I need on the farm and they supply, I will purchase. They have competitive rates, better than competitive in fact, and we like anything that keeps our on-farm costs down. We get the good prices now and the rebate at the other end,” says Richard.
The Ravensdown animal health products on Richard’s shopping list include pour-on lice control for winter dipping and combination sheep and cattle drenches.
“Their products are very good. They do what they say they’ll do. Our faecal egg count tests, before and after, show the products are 100% effective.”
Richard also likes the prompt (and free) delivery service.
“I can ring up at midday one day and my order is often here at 8am the next day and I haven’t had to drive out the farm gate - they bring it right to the doorstep.”
