Ravensdown has paid a rebate every year since we were created by farmers in 1978. Rebates are paid to transacting shareholders and are based on the tonnage of eligible fertiliser purchased throughout the financial year using the following formula:
Rebate amount x total tonnage of eligible fertiliser purchased = final rebate total
Your rebate is usually paid out in a combination of shares and cash, until you reach your quota. In the last ten years our average rebate pay-out (including applicable fully imputed bonus shares) has been $27.54 for every tonne of eligible fertiliser purchased.
2012 Rebate
The total distribution for the 01 June 2011 - 31 May 2012 financial year is $40.48 per qualifying tonne of solid NPKS fertiliser purchased.
This return per qualifying tonne of granular fertiliser purchased comprises:
- A rebate of $15.10
- A bonus share issue of $25.38, comprising $17 worth of $1 shares, $7.29 of imputation credits and $1.09 of Resident Withholding Tax.

- Ravensdown's financial year runs from 01 June - 31 May.
- Your annual tonnage is calculated and sent to you as a Statement of Fertiliser Purchase in mid to late July.
- Rebates are calculated and paid out after our annual meeting in October.
