How Long Under good growth conditions, visual symptoms of distortion of growth of leaves and stems should be visible in 4-7 days. Actual plant death may take up to 3-4 weeks or more. MCPB is less effective under cool slow growth conditions and symptoms will take longer to become apparent.
|
| Plant back withholding |
Plant Withholding Where susceptible species such as Brassica's & Clovers are to be planted, it is advised not to sow for up to 28 days following application.
|
| Stock withholding |
Stock Withholding Delay grazing for 10-14 days after application to ensure the chemical has had a chance to start working. Some poisonous plants such as ragwort become sweet and more palatable after spraying and stock should graze these pastures the plants have died down.

Clover safe option for selective control of certain broadleaf weeds in new pasture
Used to suppress the top growth of californian thistle in situations where clover safety is important
Also used for weed control in cereals, linseed and pea crops
Pasture Guard MCPB is clover safe making it suitable for very young pastures containing seedling clovers.
It is very effective on an wide range of broadleaf weeds in new pasture, allowing the pasture to establish in the paddock.
It controls many invasive species and prevents establishment of many weeds.
It is one of the very few options for cereal weed control when undersown with clovers or ryegrass / clover mixes.
Application
At all times you should refer to the Pasture Guard MCPB label. Rates vary from weed species and whether the plant is a seedling or established plant.
Mode of action
Susceptible plants convert MCPB to MCPA. MCPA then accumulates in the growing points of stems and roots where it interferes with cell division and enlargement. Plants such as clover and peas do not convert to MCPA and are therefore not affected.
