Purge is absorbed by leaves, stems and roots and is translocated to the growing points, where is interferes with cell elongation and other vital processes .  Under good growth conditions, visible symptoms of distortion to the growth of leaves and stems should be apparent within a week, this may take longer under hot dry or cold slow growth conditions
Plant back withholding

Plant back

Do not plant susceptible crops such as potatoes, peas, lucerne, beans, cucurbits, tomatoes and other picloram sensitive crops within 1 year of applying up to 350ml/Ha.  In areas with rainfall of less than 800mm per annum, or with heavy poor draining soils this may be extended up to 2 years.

Cereal crops may be sown following brassicas treated with Purge.

Clover may be established after brassicas treated with Purge, after 6 months and following thorough ploughing and cross cultivation.

Stock

No withholding period exist for grazing animals but it is always best not to graze for 10 days following application to allow the chemical a chance to translocate and photosynthesize.

However poisonous plants may become more palatable after treatment, stock should then be kept off until weeds have died down.

Agrochemicals - NZ

Application

Always refer to the label for application notes and use as directed.

Always apply Purge to fodder brassicas in combination with Collaborate Spray Oil at 500 ml per 100 lt spray mix for aerial and ground spray use. For CDA applications use 500 ml per ha.

Mode of action

Clopyalid and picloram are both absorbed by leaves, stems and roots; both then translocate through the plant, interfering with cell division and stem elongation.
