Animal Health - NZ

Application

Pasture Dusting - apply to damp pasture and re-dust if heavy rain occurs within 2-3 days of application.
Cattle: Apply daily to pasture about to be grazed at 40-75g/cow/day.
Sheep: Apply daily to pasture about to be grazed at 6-8g/sheep/day

Oral Drenching (post-calving) - mix thoroughly with water and during drenching agitate regularly to maintain suspension. Suitable stabilising agents may help to keep Magnesium Oxide Fine in suspension.
Cattle: 20-30g/cow/day
Sheep: 5-15g/sheep/day

Addition to Supplementary Feed - mix evenly into feed (for hay/silage mix with water and apply evenly over feed).
Cattle: Apply to feed to be consumed that day at 40-60g/ cow/day.
Sheep: Apply to feed to be consumed that day at 6-8g/ sheep/day.

Capability and precautions

Magnesium Oxide Fine cannot be added to water supply as it is not soluble, and will sink to the bottom of the trough.

Storage and handling

Store in a cool, dry covered facility, and ensure that the bag is closed properly after use. Dust masks and eye protection are recommended when handling product if excessive dust is present.

Shelf life

5 years from date of manufacture

Mixing

Magnesium Oxide Fine has no known incompatibilities, but is insoluble in water so cannot be administered through the drinking water. If Magnesium Oxide Fine is to be mixed into suspension with Lime Flour the magnesium oxide should be suspended in water and left to stand for at least several hours before the Lime Flour is added
