Ravensdown Kai

   

An exciting new tetraploid bred by Cropmark and licensed exclusively to Ravensdown, Kai is the result of 15 years intensive plant breeding, and is a true step up in tetraploid performance. Kai is a highly palatable new densely tillered, high yielding, and late heading (+20 days) tetraploid perennial ryegrass with high winter, early spring yields, high pasture quality and good disease resistance.

Suitability / Use

Recommended for use with all high performance systems and all livestock types in regions where insect pressure is low. Will not cause grass staggers or heat stress. Ideally suited in Southland, South Otago and the West Coast as a specialist tetraploid pasture, or for inclusion in mixes with diploid perennial ryegrasses. Like all tetraploids, Kai is best suited to rotational grazing systems.
