Ravensdown to exit agrochemical business in Western Australia

After a thorough review of its agrochemical operation in WA, Ravensdown Fertiliser Co-operative WA has decided to exit that business

“The co-operative’s agchem business was established at the time of United Farmers and had a significant contribution to lowering the price of agrochemicals to WA growers. Selling agrochemicals has also provided an additional income stream for the Ravensdown agent network. Over the last couple of years, we have evaluated the overcrowded market and decided that, as the agrochemical business was running at a loss in WA, it was better to focus our state-wide efforts on the fertiliser business,” said Alan Thomson, General Manager Australia.

Ravensdown will be selling existing stocks with the aim of clearing stock by July 2013. The Distribution Centre, situated in Welshpool, will be vacated by the 31st May and off-site storage has been organised if needed.
