HawkEye N190 Reporting
Dairy farms are required to submit a report to their local council every year, to ensure they are within the limits of the 190kg N/ha/yr cap. With HawkEye, you can get this done in under 30 minutes.
HawkEye's 5 steps for simple Nitrogen reporting:
- Check your farm map is accurate and complete. Not mapped yet? Sign up with HawkEye today.
- Ensure that your fertiliser activities are recorded in HawkEye (if you’re working with one of our joint venture partners, integrated spreaders, or a C-Dax unit, this will be done automatically).
- Create your landholding
- Assign your land categories
- We'll generate the report from there
This gives you your nitrogen report, product applications and sales data. And, we’re now integrating with Fonterra Farm Dairy records, meaning no more doubling up on data. Find out more here.
Then simply submit the report by 31st July. Easy.
Frequently asked questions
-
What is the N190 cap?
The 190kg N/ha/yr cap applies to all grazed pastoral land from 1 July to 30 June the following year. The rule applies to all farms 20 hectares or larger though only dairy farmers are required to report starting the 2021/22 year.
The cap applies to all synthetic nitrogen fertilisers where the dry weight is more than 5% nitrogen.
By 31 July each year, all dairy farmers will need to report their nitrogen fertiliser use to their regional council for each contiguous landholding. Any contiguous land to the dairy, whether used as part of the platform or not, will also need to be reported on.
