Important Information

  • Application and advice

    Administer as a pour-on along the back-line, from shoulders to tail.

    Dose rate
    1mL per 20kg live-weight.

    We recommend the following applicators: 15mL Multi-Use Gun30mL Multi-Use Gun.


    • Do not exceed the stated dose.
    • Do not use on calves under 100kg or four months of age.
    • Occasionally there may be a mild skin irritation following treatment.

  • Efficacy spectrum

    When used at the recommended dose-rate, Abamectin™ Pour On effectively controls the following abamectin-sensitive cattle parasites:

    Gastrointestinal roundworms

    • Adult and immature Ostertagia spp. (including inhibited immatures).
    • Haemonchus spp.
    • Trichostrongylus spp.
    • Cooperia spp.
    • Bunostomum spp.
    • Oesophagostomum spp.
    • Adults of Chabertia spp., Nematodirus spp., Trichuris spp., and Strongyloides spp.


    • Adult and immature Dictyocaulus viviparus.

    Biting and Sucking Lice

    • Bovicola bovis.
    • Linognathus vituli.
  • Withholding period

    Meat withholding
    Cattle producing meat (or offal) for human consumption must not be sold for slaughter during, and within 35 days of last treatment.

    If a pregnant cow is treated, and calves within the meat withholding period, the calf is fit for slaughter only when the cow is fit for slaughter.

    A cow is treated with Abamectin™ Pour On 30 days before calving. The calf cannot be slaughtered (for human consumption) until 5 days after the date of birth.

    Milk withholding
    Abamectin™ Pour On has no milk withholding period.

  • Packaging and storage

    • Straps for backpack contained in pocket situated under the front label.
    • Backpack comes with upright draw-off tube assembly.
    • Drum tap screwed into underside of main cap.
    • Small breather bung on drum accessed by removed aluminium ring.
    • Outer carton of 4 x 5L backpacks.
    • Pallet of 40 x 20L drums.
    • AgRecovery eligible.

    Store in the original container, tightly closed, in a cool, dry, locked place, away from direct sunlight.

    Store below 30°C.

    Shelf-life is three years from date of manufacture.
