A mineralised, liquid, combination (endectocide, closantel), oral drench.

Why Use Closantel™ Plus

  • Effective against all susceptible adult and immature roundworms, lungworm and liver fluke.
  • Closantel is specifically effective against barbers pole and liver fluke.
  • Use as a strategic treatment in sheep for upto 42 days persistent activity against barber’s pole, and control of liver fluke e.g. pre-mating ewe drench.
  • Less selective for drench resistance than long acting moxidectin.

Withholding Period

Meat – 56 days.
Milk – 56 days.


  • 1 g/L abamectin (macrocyclic lactone)
  • 50 g/L closantel (salicylanilide)
  • 0.5 g/L selenium
  • 2.2 g/L cobalt

  • Application and advice

    Administer orally.

    Dose Rate 

    1mL per 5kg live-weight.

    We recommend the following applicators: 15mL Multi-Use Gun  30mL Multi-Use Gun


    Do not exceed the stated dose, or dose more frequently than every three weeks.

    Do not use at the same time as any other selenised animal health product without consulting a veterinarian or animal health adviser.

  • Efficacy spectrum

    Closantel Plus™ is effective against the following abamectin/closantel sensitive internal parasites:

    • Barber’s Pole - Haemonchus contortus
    • Stomach hair worm - Trichostrongylus axei
    • Black scour worm - Trichostrongylus colubriformis and Trichostrongylus vitrinis
    • Brown stomach worm - Teladorsagia circumcincta and Teladorsagia trifurcata
    • Small intestinal worm - Cooperia oncophora, Cooperia surnabada and Cooperia punctata
    • Thin-necked intestinal worm - Nematodirus spathiger
    • Liver fluke - Fasciola hepatica
    • Lungworm - Dictyocaulus filaria
  • Withholding Period

    Meat withholding

    Sheep producing meat (or offal) for human consumption must not be sold for slaughter during, and within 56 days of last treatment.

    Milk withholding 

    Milk intended for sale for human consumption must be discarded during, and within 56 days of last treatment.

  • Packaging and storage

    Pallet of 40 x 20L drums.

    Store in the original container, tightly closed in a cool, dry and locked place away from direct sunlight.

    Store below 30°C.

    Shelf-life is two years from date of manufacture.
