CAN contains 27% nitrogen and 8% calcium as calcium carbonate (lime). It consists of dust-free, white free-flowing granules.
Although CAN generally mixes well with other products, it is not compatible with the following:
Superphosphate and Magnesium Oxide
CAN can be compatible with the following under certain circumstances:
Dry Lime (may also give off ammonia gas) and Sulphur Super 30
Segregation may occur when mixed with product with differences of particle size.
Refer Compatibility chart.
Can be considered as near-neutral in its effect on soil pH and therefore can be used on soils that have a low pH without lowering further
For use on perennial fruit crops (where soil incorporation of lime is difficult)
is a nitrogen fertiliser which contains equal parts of fast acting nitrate-nitrogen and longer lasting ammonium-nitrogen
Volatilisation of nitrogen from CAN is negligible, therefore the timing of the applications is flexible
CAN is commonly used on fruit, process and vegetable crops.
