Safety Information
-
Benefits
- High-quality natural (unbleached) magnesium chloride prill that is highly soluble in water
- Suitable for addition to the drinking water or supplementary feed, or for daily oral drenching
- May contain a very small amount of harmless insoluble organic residue
-
Application
Magnesium Chloride Natural is very soluble in water, so is generally only administered by an oral drench or through the drinking water (via an in-line dispenser, added to the central water supply or added directly to the water trough). Dose rates are generally 60-80g/cow/day for drenching and 60-100g/cow/day for water medication. It can be added to supplementary feeds, although its unfavourable taste makes magnesium oxide a better choice for feed medication.
-
Compatibility
With the exception of the very small amount of organic residue that may be present, Magnesium Chloride Natural is totally soluble in water so is compatible with drench guns, trough dispensers and most in-line dispensers, but is not to be blended with fertiliser. Problems with the residue can occur in a very small percentage of situations, such as:
• Excessively fine filters at the inlet.
• Incorrect dissolving and mixing of various products.
• Other products in the solution tank that may combine with the residue and block filters and dispensers. -
Packaging
• Lined polypropylene bag.
• UV-stabilised bags.
• Sling pack of 40 x 25kg bags (1 MT) or sling pack of 44 x 25kg bags (1.1 MT) or pallet of 40 x 25kg bags.
• Sling packs are UV-stabilised. -
Storage
As all magnesium chlorides absorb moisture from the atmosphere store in a cool, dry covered facility, and ensure that the bag is closed properly after use. Magnesium Chloride Natural, although harmless, can sting if applied to cuts and open sores. Wear gloves if handling product directly.
Shelf life: 5 years from date of manufacture
